This is your harbour. A place to pause, reflect and reconnect - with yourself and the life you want to live.
Reaching out for support and help takes a lot of courage.
I know how it feels to want to do everything alone and tackle our inner voice or external problems without speaking to anyone about what is running through our head or how we really feel. However, this thought process and way of living is not always useful or the best way to serve ourselves. My journey with personal therapy has not been an easy one. I acknowledge that sometimes therapists are not the best fit for us and this can leave us feeling worse off than when we started. I was fourteen when I had my first therapy session and I hated it. Never in a million years did I think I would ever become a counsellor myself. Instead I went to university to study Contemporary Performance Practice. This offered me the opportunity to work with a range of individuals from different walks of life in a creative manner - including working in a prison, a hospice and a primary school.
I wanted to create a place of refuge, a haven from life’s turmoil.
I returned to Dumfries and fell in love with support work. Again, this enabled me to see life through different lenses, supporting adults with mental health issues and disabilities to working with children and young adults who are unpaid carers. Time, trust and faith in a better life enabled me to give therapy another shot in my twenties. It was very different, but still not what I was looking for. What was I searching for? What was I expecting? I decided to delve deeper into my curiosity and completed my COSCA Counselling Skills certificate. This shifted my view on what it means to truly listen to someone and hear what they are saying, without the need for a response or a quick fix.
I took some time out before completing a Diploma in Pluralistic Counselling and Psychotherapy. Like us all, I am always learning. I have found my passion; witnessing individuals flourish through their own hard work and determination to shift their inner voice and make changes for a better headspace as they begin to feel alive again.
Sitting in the unknown with people and getting comfortable in the notion that sometimes there is not one definitive answer, or any answer at all. Often all you need is someone to sit with you in the dark. Counselling feels like a privilege and an honour for me. The Holistic Harbour was born from the notion of a place to find emotional shelter and protection, rest and respite and as a transition point; a liminal space. We harbour many of our thoughts and feelings; I wanted to create a place of refuge, a haven from life’s turmoil; where you can talk, laugh, cry, think and breath deeply, stay silent or use however you see fit.

Hour-Long Sessions
Pluralistic Approach
Anyone and Any Difficulty
A Space Just for You
At the Holistic Harbour, I aim to create a warm, non-judgemental space where you can hopefully find comfort in being you. I am not the expert on your life - you are, so my role is to be present alongside you, helping you reconnect with your own insight, values, and strengths. Providing the space and environment for you to be honest with yourself. Together, we will explore any challenges, obstacles or feelings of disconnect that you are facing- whether you are looking for clarity, growth, or simply a space to reflect and have time for yourself.
My approach is gentle, intuitive, playful and rooted in the belief each of us carries the capacity for healing within. I believe therapy can be both meaningful and light-hearted. Humour and curiosity often help us explore deeper truths. As a pluralistic therapist, I draw from a range of approaches and ideas allowing us together to create sessions to meet your needs in the present moment, to fit your unique values, experiences and preferences - reminding you that you are the expert and captain of your own life.
There is no “one-size-fits-all” method, and I respect that every individual brings their own wisdom and perspective. This is your harbour. A place to pause, reflect and reconnect - with yourself and the life you want to live.
I aim to stay rooted in the reality of your world - not just theory. I seek to understand how your life actually feels and functions, and work with you in a way that feels practical, honest, and human. Therapy with me at the Holistic Harbour is a collaborative journey - grounded, flexible and always centred on what matters most to you. Our work together is designed to help you feel more aligned, more spacious, and more at ease within yourself in your daily life.
Each of us carries the capacity for healing within
